If you’re a woman who’s been putting off visiting Japan
And you want to experience it in an immersive way,
get off the beaten path and connect with like-minded women
November 11th-19th, 2026
You've traveled. Probably more than most. And somewhere along the way, you started to feel it.
The itinerary that moves too fast, the experience that looks right but doesn't quite land. Like you're passing through instead of arriving somewhere.
Japan has been on your mind for a reason. Not the Japan of rushed itineraries and choreographed moments. Something slower. Something that asks more of you and gives more back.
Eight nights in rural Japan, in places most visitors never reach. Enough time to actually feel where you are. Your resources going directly into the communities we move through, not as an afterthought, but as the whole philosophy.
If it's calling you, listen to that.
Why
Shikoku?
Off the beaten path
Shikoku is one of the main four islands and has a much to offer, but isn’t visited by foreign visitors. Much of Shikoku is more remote so there are less crowds.
Slower pace
There’s a vibe here. It’s relaxed, not rushed. From agriculture to surfing, the pace isn’t hurried which makes it ideal for an immersive trip.
Culturally Rich
With four prefectures, Shikoku has deep rooted traditions, festivals and architecture. From textile artisans, castles, shrines and temples.
Diverse Gastronomy
Its agricultural heritage and natural abundance lends to a diverse and unique culinary experiences. It also has a mild climate which makes for growing fruits, especially citrus, vegetable and its waters, seafood.
Natural Beauty
Mountains, rivers, and the ocean, Shikoku's natural beauty is tranquil and breathtaking. It also lends to scenic hot springs.
Quiet mornings at a ryokan or a temple with nowhere to be.
Meals at the kind of local restaurants that don't need to market themselves.
Hands-on workshops that teach you something you'll carry home.
Real time with the communities you're moving through.

Hello Traveler
My name is Sequoia. I designed this trip because I wanted women to experience this part of Japan the way I know it. Not as a highlight reel, but as a place with real depth.
Travel means something different when it connects you to a place and its people, not just its surface.
Shikoku is where my Japanese grandfather's family is from. I spent time here during my childhood. I caught my first wave in Japan here. It's personal in a way that changes how I move through it, and how I'll move through it with you.
It's also one of the least visited islands in Japan, which is exactly why it's worth your time. The cuisine alone. The nature.
The way the culture sits closer to the surface here than in the places most visitors see. Most people never make it here. That's their loss, and quietly, your gain.
"Working with Sequoia was the best thing that could've happened for my first trip to Japan. I reached out when I was feeling overwhelmed with planning. She effortlessly turned my vague ideas into the most extraordinary trip I couldn't possibly have dreamed it up myself. The logistics were completely taken care of. I just had to show up for the fun.
Because of Sequoia I visited parts of Japan I'd never heard of and stayed in places I would've been too intimidated to try on my own. She prepared me with recommendations and routes that kept me constantly relaxed and in awe. She brings a kind and calm presence to the often stressful endeavor of trip planning — and eases the inevitable burdens so you can enjoy all of the best parts of travel to the fullest."
